Live spirit and dead batteries

A usual afternoon in the Khanya computer room is filled with the languid chat of teachers doing their research on the internet.

After all it is pleasant to be here and work a while to the gentle humming of the computers, Ethernet switches and air-conditioners.

Oops, the latter is not true for today. It turns out that the air-con remote’s batteries are dead. What a shame! I wonder, if one were to get a cheque from the admin office in order to get some fresh air, what would be written on it, “Two Rands Only”?.. ;)

Technology has progressed at an astounding pace over the past couple of years, bringing our staff from the calculator and pen-and-paper to the level where everybody as a team can be aggressively achieving, motivated and capable of multitasking with no sweat.

I like it.
